DUMONT — A school board member ousted in the April elections returned to the school district's governing body this week as an appointee.
Members of the board of education selected their former colleague, Guy Finetto, from a group of four candidates to fill the seat vacated recently by veteran board member Debra Shanley. Finetto, who narrowly lost his April bid for one of three open seats, was appointed in a 6-0 vote on Monday, said schools Superintendent James Montesano, adding that board member Barbara Correa abstained from the vote.
