From NorthJersey.com: Dumont GOP mounts aggressive campaign Friday, August 22, 2008 BY SERDAR TUMGOREN STAFF WRITER DUMONT — Republicans hoping to rebuild their party and break Democrats’ monopoly on power are mounting their first aggressive political campaign in three years. "We genuinely feel every town needs representation from both parties, because it provides checks and balances," said Matthew Kruger, one of three GOP candidates running for Borough Council on Nov. 4. U.S. ATTORNEY SUBPOENAS DUMONT |
 Mayor McHale (From today's (7/23) edition of the Record:) Two more Bergen County municipalities confirmed today they received subpoenas this week from the U.S. Attorney’s Office. A dozen North Jersey towns confirmed getting subpoenas yestetday, and confirmations from Closter and Dumont yesterday brought the total to 14. The subpoenas request records related to Bergen County Democratic Organization Chairman Joseph Ferriero, attorney Dennis Oury, utilities chief Leonard Kaiser and David Spatz, the president of Governmental Grants Consulting, a firm in which all four men shared an interest. The FBI appears to be investigating how the firm’s principals used their political positions to obtain business for it.
